Austin Air HealthMate Plus Junior has the same purpose as Austin Air HealthMate Plus standard unit -  to provide enhanced adsorption of VOCs and toxic chemicals released by new furniture, new carpeting, fresh paint vapors, vapors from varnish, oil paints, off-gassing from office machines, pesticides, household cleansers, perfume, etc. along with guaranteed entrapment of sub-micron allergens and dust in areasunder 750 sq. ft. with 8 foot high ceiling at 2 ACH (air changes per hour).

Long-Lasting True HEPA Filter

Austin Air HealthMate Plus Junior employs the same standard long lasting True HEPA Filter used in all other Austin Air 200 series models.
It contains 30 sq, ft, of fine True HEPA media which has a guaranteed rate of 99.97% in trapping all microscopic airborne contaminants down to 0.3 micron in size. Therefore, it provides a superior level of protection from all microscopic allergens, lung damaging dust, sub-micron particles in tobacco smoke, wildfire smoke, and all other solid airborne contaminants. Large amount of True HEPA media ensures a long lifetime - typically up to 3 to 5 years in normal residential conditions.

Carbon Filter Canister with Superblend Adsorbent

To achieve a sufficient rate of adsorption hard-to-remove specific chemicals the Austin Air HealthMate Plus Junior carbon filter canister is filled with generous amount (6.5 lbs.) of Specialty enhanced Superblend adsorbent. The Superblend adosbent contains a mixture of granular carbon from coconut shell with special additives - Potassium Iodide and Zeolite. The Superblend adsorbent helps significantly increase the rate of removal Specific chemical substances, including: VOCs, pesticides, cuisine odors, pet odors, formaldehyde, paint vapors, chemicals in tobacco smoke, smoke from wood burning stove, exhaust gases from nearby traffic, household chemicals, and many more.
Important Notice!
Since True HEPA filter and Activated Carbon canister in Austin Air HealthMate Plus Junior are merged together in one-piece Filter assembly, the whole filter assembly has to be replaced with new one, when either True HEPA or Activated carbon canister filter reaches the end of its lifetime.

Pre-Filter

The PremaFilt polyester pre-filter forms the first stage of the Austin Air HealthMate Plus Junior air filtration system. It traps large dirt and dust particles, lint and hairs and therefore plays an essential role of protecting True HEPA and Carbon filters from fast contamination and helps extend the main filters' lifetime.

Motor Fan Assembly

Austin Air HealthMate Plus Junior air purifier is equipped with the same standard for Austin Air 200 series units reliable and energy efficient Motor/Fan.
Rated at 200 CFM (open air) it provide a sufficient number of air changes per hour (ACH) to achieve an excellent air cleaning result in open area or several adjacent rooms with the total surface under 750 sq. ft.
The 3-Speed fan control offers user to set the optimal air flow for any air cleaning condition or household activity and ensures a quiet night sleep.
The motor is run-tested for a long continuous operation at high RPM and for a long trouble-free lifetime.
The shock absorbers isolating motor from the body, help further reduce the associated with motor vibration and noise.
